Call for local SMEs to benefit from ‘green’ business support
The York & North Yorkshire Partnership (LEP) has today launched a business support programme to help local businesses make significant cost savings, whilst also saving the planet.
The Grow Greener programme, funded by the York & North Yorkshire Growth Hub and BEIS, has been specifically developed for SMEs in York and North Yorkshire with the aim of helping them to reduce their costs and energy consumption, whilst also helping them to lower their carbon footprint.
Run in partnership with specialist consultants, Oakdene Hollins, the programme will focus on reviewing working practices to identify efficiencies and new income generation opportunities giving those SMEs a competitive advantage. The programme is completely free to take part in, with 20 places available. Interested businesses need to register by Monday 22nd February via https://www.oakdenehollins.com/sme-circularity
SMEs who trade business-to-business (B2B) excluding those in agriculture can take advantage of the Resource Efficient Business programme, or REBiz, set up by York & North Yorkshire LEP and West Yorkshire Combined Authority and funded by ERDF. Similar to the Grow Greener programme, REBiz can help businesses reduce energy usage and cut down waste. Including a free audit (worth £1200), longer-term consultancy and a potential grant up to a maximum of £40,000 to implement recommended measures, this support can be accessed via https://www.the-lep.com/business-support/growth-support/resource-efficiency-and-the-circular-economy/ .
