Speakers

Naveen Sahney

Naveen has been with Garbutt + Elliott for around 9 years after spending the previous 11 years working overseas in Corporate Training for multinational IT companies. Naveen is a Chartered Tax Advisor with Indirect Taxes specialisation.

Naveen provides VAT consultancy services to a diverse client base from small businesses to large international groups.  He enjoys dealing with VAT in the property/construction sector, charities, complex partial exemption calculations and cross border VAT transactions. Naveen also advises his clients on customs duties. 

Beckie Hart

As the CBI’s director for Yorkshire and the Humber, Beckie Hart is responsible for managing and developing relationships with a wide range of organisations and stakeholders in the region; recruiting new members to the CBI; and central and regional lobbying. In addition, Beckie and her team deliver a programme of policy and best practice events for CBI members and regional stakeholders.

Beckie’s responsibilities also extend to overseeing the principal representative CBI body in the region, the Regional Council, which comprises chief executives, chairs and board members of CBI member companies from a cross sector and size of businesses.  Beckie is also the Co-Chair of the CBI National Manufacturing Council, alongside Tom Crotty of Ineos.

Prior to joining the CBI, Beckie held a number of managerial roles in small and medium sized manufacturing companies based in the Yorkshire and the Humber.

Beckie sits on the board of Hull Youth Bank and the University of Huddersfield Business School Advisory board and writes a weekly column in the Yorkshire Post. She is married with 2 school age children.

Becky Maguire

Becky leads the award winning Business Tax team at Garbutt + Elliott and has worked in tax for 20 years.  Before joining G+E in 2019, Becky worked at PwC in both Leeds and London where she led the delivery of tax services to large private and listed businesses.

The business tax team have particular expertise in R&D tax relief claims, tax efficient share incentives, corporate restructuring and demergers, VAT, customs duties and capital allowances.

Becky enjoys working with her clients to help them navigate the complexities of tax and is committed to delivering quality tax advice. `
