With Covid-19 still a present threat to many businesses, you may have put the EU Transition to the back of your mind, especially with trade talks ongoing and much remaining unknown. However, there is a lot you can be doing now to prepare.

In this free webinar, accountancy specialists Garbutt + Elliot and the Department for International Trade will give details of what we currently know with regards to customs duty and VAT for imports and exports, and answer any questions that you may have.

The session will aim to cover:

  • an overview of customs duty and VAT for imports and exports post 31 December 2020
  • the customs process, tariffs, commodity codes and Incoterms in more detail
  • high level information on customs duty reliefs
  • import and export case study examples demonstrating the key points in terms of changes post 31 December 2020 and how business can adapt.

Speakers

Naveen Sahney

Naveen has been with Garbutt + Elliott for around 9 years after spending the previous 11 years working overseas in Corporate Training for multinational IT companies. Naveen is a Chartered Tax Advisor with Indirect Taxes specialisation.

Naveen provides VAT consultancy services to a diverse client base from small businesses to large international groups.  He enjoys dealing with VAT in the property/construction sector, charities, complex partial exemption calculations and cross border VAT transactions. Naveen also advises his clients on customs duties.

Alex Millar

Alex qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 2002 while working for a ‘big 4’ firm, and joined Garbutt + Elliott in January 2016 as a VAT Consultant. Much of the work Alex is involved with relates to UK businesses that have customers and/or suppliers in the EU.
