Businesses encouraged to enter Queen’s Awards for Enterprise
There are just two weeks left for businesses to enter the prestigious Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.
The York & North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership is encouraging local businesses to apply as previous winners have reported a range of benefits. These include breaking into new markets, attracting investment offers, greater brand awareness and an enhanced ability to attract the best talent.
The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are for outstanding achievement by UK businesses in the categories of: innovation, international trade, sustainable development and promoting opportunity through social mobility. Fifteen businesses in Yorkshire and the Humber won awards this year, including four from North Yorkshire.
David Kerfoot MBE DL, chair of the York & North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “The impact for winners of the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise cannot be underestimated. Winners have reported greater growth and wider recognition for their businesses, so investing in time to apply has certainly proved worthwhile. There are many outstanding businesses in York & North Yorkshire which could be contenders for awards in 2021 and I would encourage them to enter.”
As well as a Royal reception and presentation ceremony by a Lord-Lieutenant, winners also receive a Grant of Appointment, a commemorative crystal trophy and can make use of the Queen’s Awards emblem on marketing materials. Awards are valid for five years.
